I don't have that cookbook, would you be willing to share the recipe? The amounts here should be correct, but I can double-check. It only makes a single loaf, which I prefer since there are only two of us to eat it.

Is this amount of flour accurate? I am looking for a good challah recipe and found your site. Try the challah recipe from The 30-minute Kosher Cook. It uses honey. My family loves it when I make that challah. I am looking to add to my recipes, though.

I'm voting for Jon's aunts recipe. After all, her creamed spinach was good and certainly a keeper. And OM goodness...as french toast. Even as sick as I am please I'll have 2nd's.

Hey, I never claimed to be keeping a kosher kitchen :)

Given that I hope to be baking a lot of challah this year, it's good to know it freezes well.

What recipe do you use?

Can't help but chuckle at the "after" photo - serving the challah french toast with sausage! It does look beautiful, though.

Also - challah freezes very well - we usually use half on Friday night, then freeze the other half for the next week's Shabbat.

Can't wait to see which recipe you designate as best!
